Enterprise is about making things happen. It is about taking risks, working with other people to tackle a task and being creative in how to overcome problems.
WHERE DO WE FIND ENTERPRISE?
People can be enterprising. Businesses can be enterprising. Charities and other organisations can be enterprising too. Enterprise can be found everywhere. In an uncertain world where anything can happen, enterprise makes the difference between success and failure.
WHY IS ENTERPRISE IMPORTANT FOR GREENHAM COMMON?
Greenham Common has changed so much and continues to evolve. An enterprising approach to developing the Common is apparent throughout its history. Businesses have been innovative, for example when Tarmac worked out how to remove the contaminated gravels, reprofile the area and extract over a million tonnes of mineral from the site. Charities have been bold in making difficult decisions, such as the Greenham Common Trust when planning how the site should be developed in the early 1990’s. People have taken risks, starting up new ventures in the Business Park and in doing so helping to finance the continually changing environment.
